Took the kids to ‘Mozart: A Child Prodigy’ - an interactive exhibition at the National Museum today as a holiday treat during the June vacation. There are 11 themed sections in the gallery for the children to explore and compare the differences and similarities of everyday living with young Mozart’s, back in the 18th Century.
Bryan and Joel got to put on moles, wigs and costumes from the 18th century. The staff there was telling us that if a mole was drawn on the cheek, just right below the eyes, it signifies authority. In fact, I enjoyed this section the most - more than the kids. They insisted on removing their moles and mustache at the washroom, before heading back home, as we took the public transport.
Hehe .. I was slim enough to fit into a kid's dress! The gown is supposed to end at the ankle, but mine ends at the calf instead. Also, I didn't managed to zip the back of my dress :P
The boys had their hands on writing with quill and ink, playing the ancient game spinning tops, of mixing herbal remedies and making tooth powder for the brushing of teeth. They also got to make paper wigs.
